From the Trees to the Seas: Following the Flow of Seasons

There hasn’t been as much posting lately – we’ve been soaking up our last hurrah here in Maine before we shift our flow to the warmer rhythm of Florida.

This fall has been a season of discovery for me – of beauty and shadow, of learning and releasing. Between newborn snuggles, reshaping our family dynamics, and finding new steadiness in this chapter, I’ve felt both stretched and softened. Maine has been my mirror this season – showing me what needed to be healed, what needed to be tended, and what could finally be set free.

But now, it’s time. Halloween has passed, the Witch’s New Year has begun, my oldest has turned eight, and the call of the South tugs at my heart. The Everglades and mangroves are whispering again – wild, liminal, and alive with their own lessons.

It’s always fascinating to live between these two worlds – the forested stillness of the North and the watery wilds of the South. For me, it’s more than a move between places; it’s a rhythm of life. A way of listening, learning, and flowing from the trees of Maine to the seas of Florida.

I’ll always be a Mainer at heart – rooted in pines and riverstone – but Florida holds the space for my becoming. It’s a place of transformation, a landscape of discovery, if you choose to walk it that way.

How do you chase your seasons?
How do you listen for your inner flow – the call of your own in-between places?
